1. airBaltic Greets Passengers with Specially Composed Music by Raimonds Tiguls

Riga. The famous Latvian composer Raimonds Tiguls has written special melodies for the Latvian national airline’s airBaltic Airbus A220-300 aircraft in honour of Latvia's Centenary. The series of melodies consists of four different themes – spring, summer, autumn and winter, and can be heard as passengers board and disembark from the aircraft.

Raimonds Tiguls, Latvian composer: “The idea behind this composition was to create ambient music with a national identity for airBaltic passengers in honour of Latvia’s Centenary celebration. The aim is to create a relaxing feeling for the passengers, so they could fully enjoy their flight.”

Raimonds Tiguls is a famous Latvian composer, musician, author and producer who is known far beyond Latvia’s border. His music is released by Galaxy Music Corporation in the United States and earlier this year could be heard at Carnegie Hall in New York City, where it was performed by the National Festival Chorus and Tiguls himself.

The Airbus A220-300 offers excellent flying experience with such benefits for passengers as wider seats, larger windows, more hand luggage space in the cabin, improved lavatories and more. New aircraft is also much quieter – with four times smaller noise footprint. Moreover, at the moment, it is the greenest commercial aircraft in the world, as it is the first aircraft to have a transparent declaration of the life-cycle environmental impact, helping to reduce CO2 and NOX emissions by 20% and 50% respectively.
